CH Simply Irresistible ("Kandy") -  6 Field Points
Sire: NFC/DC/AFC Tequila's Joker
Dam: FC Missfit's Radikewell Krista JH
Breeder: Marc & Vicki Rittner
Born: May 25, 2005

Kandy was a gorgeous puppy, and amazing in the field. She either won, placed, or got lost in every puppy stake she ran in, until we finally got a tracking collar for her. She easily earned Puppy and Derby points in California, Arizona, Nevada, and Nebraska. Trained and handled by Bob Burchett, in March 2002 she was 4th in the ABC Central Region All-Age Futurity under extremely tough winter weather conditions in Danville, Illinois. (22 starters, and her littermate Tequila Dynamite was the WINNER!) Those placements qualified both dogs for the ABC Nat'l All-Age Futurity Run-off, held in Booneville, Arkansas in early December. Kandy was the Runner-Up Winner, behind another TJ daughter.

In the spring of 2006 (two years after her last field trial), Vicki put Kandy on a diet & fitness program to get back in shape for the show ring. It all paid off when she earned her CH title in San Antonio, TX, with a 4 pt major and Best of Winners; handled by Clint Livingston.

Kandy now enjoys being a house dog as much as she enjoyed field trialing. (Maybe more, they don't serve avocados on the stake out chain.) Her favorite activities are biking with Vicki (at warp speed - I know I should be wearing a helment . . . ), and running in the horse arena twice a day. Amazingly, she has also decided that retrieving is fun - and loves to interfere when we're playing retrieving games with Bernie and Jada. Her first (and only) litter in June 2004 produced three puppies including our "Speedy". We think Kandy is the most beautiful Brittany ever sired by her famous father, and she is the SWEETEST dog we could ever imagine.

Speedy is one of three puppies whelped by our Kandy (CH Simply Irresistible) on June 17th, 2004. We had originally planned to keep a female, but Speedy convinced us that he was meant to stay and we're so glad he did! Speedy is like Kandy in so many ways - he's sweet and snuggly, and gets along with everybody.

With two NFC/ Hall of Fame dogs as grandfathers, it's no surprise that Speedy is a natural in the field. Even though he had no field training, he ran in several field trials in the spring of '06 and earned several placements in large Derby stakes. In his first year competing as an adult, Speedy won a large Open All-Age stake for his first FC points (Minnesota Brittany Club), after placing 3rd out of 48 starters (Iowa Brittany Club) in his very first month of competition. We're very proud of Speedy's field accomplishments, especially at such a young age.

And we're especially proud that he's earned the title of CHAMPION! Fast and easy, that's our Speedy.

Tru's Jump N Jada - 2 yrs old (photo by Sunshine Portraits)

June 23 - Jada goes Winner's Bitch/ Best of Winners for 4 pts, under Dorothy Macdonald at the Kennel Club of Beverly Hills show!!

Jada is a Bernie daughter, out of Shale Valley's Finesse MH. (Nessa's sire is NAFC/FC/AFC Lea's Running Jay Hawk  and her mother is Shale Valley's Shoni Dancer SH, a full sister to DC/AFC Bourbon XIII.) Jada was one of EIGHT females in a litter bred by Randy Meyer of Wellsville, MO. Jada was our pick in lieu of a stud fee.

Jada had several placements in puppy stakes in early 2006, including a 1st at a local Shorthair trial. Along with Speedy and Ivy, Jada went to the Midwest for training/ field trialing and ran in only 2 trials before winning a 20+ dog Open Derby stake at the Missouri BC trial. Marc was there to watch (and also judged the ABC Gun Dog Classic). The stake was still running when Marc had to leave for the airport, taking Jada with him. We got the news she had won, just minutes before her plane arrived in California. Good timing, Jada!

We're very proud of Jada - a real head turner wherever she goes. She's up to 11 show points (1 major) and hopefully has a lot more field/ show wins in her future.

Jada is a sister to "Tru's Jump N For Joy", owned by Mike & Deborah Frane of Torrance, CA.  Joy joined the "Tru Blue" club after winning the Amateur Walking Derby Stake (2 pts) at the Greater Phoenix trial in January 2007, and recently earned her JH title, making her Bernie's first titled offspring!

Grooming by Julie C. in Iowa
January 2009 - Ivy will soon be leaving California to become a full-time resident of South Dakota. We are so fortunate to know some very dear people who fell in love with Ivy 3 years ago when Marc was hunting with their son-in-law, who just happens to own "Blazer" who is the spittin' image and a son of Bernie. After a tragic motor vehicle accident in which Butch, Lois, and their 8 yr-old Brittany were seriously injured, we knew they needed a "Therapy" dog, who could also handle the job of hunting almost every day next fall in Pheasant Heaven. We will miss having her around here, but know she's going to a wonderful new home and will be dearly loved by Butch and Lois. Marc will see her at least once a year too, as a fall hunting trip to South Dakota has become an annual event.
February 2008 - Ivy's first adult placement, 3rd in an HOUR stake at the Greater St. Louis trial . . . and she's still only 2 years old!
June 2007 -  After a short vacation at home in California, Ivy is now back in Iowa, training for competition in adult stakes starting this Fall. She's an amazing little dog - definitely a chip off the block of her famous father, including her OFA Excellent hips.
April 2007 - Ivy wins the Open Derby stake in Iowa, with over 30 starters.
October 2006 - Ivy wins a large Open Derby stake at the Southern Kansas BC trial, after training all summer with Bob Burchett.
November 2005 - Ivy easily earned both Open and Amateur puppy points in her first season of field competition, winning or placing every time she ran.
